It's an honor to get asked by so many to be included in their Mentorship Portfolios. These are answers to the "standard" questions. If you have any others, feel free to ask!

1) Where are you originally from?

I grew up on the north side of Chicago and I still reside in the city. I love Chicago, it has everything you could possible want and more. Culture, fashion, art, food, opportunity, it's all just magical to me.

2) Where did you receive your initial training?

I was not only fortunate enough to go to Paul Mitchell the school Chicago, but I was the first Future Professional to register. It was an amazing experience that allowed me all the opportunity to reach my fullest potential.

3) What additional training have you had?

I love education so I'm constantly trying to take additional classes and seminars; DJ Muldoon, Ira Sage, Sally Rogerson, and Gerard Scarpaci are just a few of the mentors I've been fortunate enough to work with and learn from.

4) What sort of salon experience have you had?

I'm a stylist in our salon, the HAIR LOFT ltd, four days a week as well the owner leading and pushing our team to do the greatest that they can.

5) What sort of platform experience have you had?

I've been fortunate to be able to have created my own platform with FORM + FUNCTION Salon Education. This, with a great partnership with Paul Mitchell Schools, has allowed me to do 85 school visits in 4 years. I've also been able to host some of the beauty industries biggest names as well as develop my own educational programs which wave brought stylists and salon owners to our academy from all over the country.

6) What sort of print work have you had?

I've had a blurb printed here and there, but it's really not my thing. I'm more interested in YouTube views and Instagram likes. I don't feed off having an editor decide my work was good enough to be printed, I love knowing the audience has decided my work is worthy of their attention.

7) What are your specialties?

Behind the chair I enjoy cutting. The structure of cutting relates to my love of architecture and I love the instant gratification of seeing what you're creating. What I think I'm best known for is Management and Marketing in the beauty industry.

8) Have you endorsed or represented a product line?

Yes. I was Paul Mitchell National Educator for a couple years but the commitment to growing the HAIR LOFT ltd and our FORM + FUNCTION Salon Education became my priority. The expression "You can't do it all" is very true if you want to do it all really really well. We still carry Paul Mitchell nearly exclusively in our salon.

9) What awards and recognition have you received?

I haven't received many awards. It's not my motivation. I know we're doing great things, making our guests happy, educating thousands a year, and growing a successful business.

10) Explain your distinctive style or philosophy.

I never bet against passion, because passion builds potential into reality.
