Are you focused on today or tomorrow?

I'm constantly focusing on tomorrow. It could be what classes we have coming up, could be business and promotions we'll be doing in the salon, or it's what a guest will need on their next visit. I'm trying to play chess when others are playing checkers.

Right now in our salons, it's the perfect time to focus on tomorrow. This is the BUSIEST time of the year and it leads into the SLOWEST time of the year. Why do you think that is? It's because when people get busy, they begin to only think of right now. "I've got two guests right now and and my next is in 15min, can't talk, must blow dry." The challenge here is we're not using our advantage to our advantage.

If this is our busiest time, the time when we're going to be able to have the most 1-on-1 time with the most amount of people, we have to use it to make sure they're coming back tomorrow. Yes, you have hundreds or maybe thousands on your schedule this week, but what about January 12 - 17? What will your income be that week?

You can't be so busy with today that you forget about tomorrow. Prebooking, Asking to meet their friends and family (aren't they going to be going to holiday parties? Get out your cards!) or offering product solutions so their hair is awesome for six weeks, will all go a long way to helping you build tomorrow.
